HISTORY

In 2006, legendary writer and producer Vy Higginsen and gospel legend Dr. Emily "Cissy" Houston joined forces to teach aspiring teenagers about the importance of gospel music as an art form.  Since then it has grown into a highly respected and influential source of education and self-development for New York City youth.

OUR WORK

Under the direction of the Foundation's seasoned music masters, the Gospel for Teens Choir has performed at prestigious venues and special events across America including the Congressional Black Caucus, The Stellar Awards, Reverend Al Sharpton's National Action Network Convention, New York Fashion Week, Yankee Stadium, and Lincoln Center.  Recently we've performed with Madonna, Pharrell Williams, Ariana Grande, and more!

Auditions for the Spring semester will be held at the Mama Foundation (149 W. 126th St., Between Lenox & 7th Ave.) on

 

Friday, February 16th, from 5:30 to 7:30pm

Saturday, February 17th, from 11:00am to 1:00pm

Friday, February 24th, from 5:30 to 7:30pm

Saturday, February 25th, from 11:00am to 1:00pm
